The gardens are in full bloom this Spring and looking better than ever. We’ve been working hard on maintaining our high standards, the cottages have all been white washed and are sparking in the sunshine, interiors are looking pristine and Team Cottages are all ready for the season ahead.

Emerald Park logo

Emerald Park, Ireland’s only theme park and zoo located in the heart of the nation’s ancient east, opens it gates again this summer with such a diverse mix of attractions for all the family. With thrill-seeking attractions, a junior area, playgrounds, shows and entertainment plus a fantastic zoo which is home to over 250 animals!

Emerald Park’s zoo is heavily involved in conservation and research, supporting the “buy an acre challenge” to save the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve in central Mexico.

Tiger at Emerlad Park

It is part of the Wild Cat conservation Alliance supporting critically endangered Amur leopard and endangered Amur Tiger. Plus supporting Wildlife Vets International who aid conservationist and local vets around the world to save endangered species.

Boyne Boats

Boyne boats offer tours across the River Boyne and Boyne Canal and this year Ross Kelly had unveiled a unique Neolithic Experience where you paddle down the River and land at Dowth the UNESCO World Heritage site. The boats you travel in are hand built traditional Irish Currach, your guide will fill your head with tales of long gone adventures and mystic folklore. A memory maker if ever there was one!

Drogheda’s very own artisan food and craft market takes place on the 1st Saturday of every month. Over 30 local homemade, homegrown and handcrafted stalls, plus entertainment & workshops. Situated on the ground floor of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre in Drogheda

Art in the Fresh Air this Summer

The Louth Plein Air Arts Festival will take place over two days at two different coastal locations this year. Carlingford on 8th July 2023 and Clogherhead on 9th July 2023.

If you wish to participate in the festival then please do visit their website for more information. If however you prefer to join in the fun and visit the sites, spur on the contestants and admire the skills then pop along between 10am and 4.30pm on either day. The locations are just breath taking!

ChapterHouse Theatre brings Oscar Wilde’s hilarious tale of double lives and mistaken identities to life with the unforgettably larger than life characters, the delightful Cecily, the roguish Algernon and the formidable Lady Bracknell are sure to keep you Wildly entertained!

Bring a Picnic and settle down for this exciting new production don’t forget that it is in the open air so Please do bring your own rugs or low-back seating, and do consider the weather when dressing for the event

Gates open at 5.30pm to allow you to get parked and find a picnic space. The event will go ahead rain or shine.

Should you prefer something a little different then Chapterhouse Theatre Company will be performing the classic tale: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett on 2nd July 2023.
